The first commercial broadcaster in Japan to obtain albert certification
We earned two stars from the British albert certification for our initiatives to reduce the CO2 emissions coming from content production.
Produced by TBS SPARKLE and broadcast on BS-TBS (aired on March 20, 2022) the show “Style 2030” received two stars for albert certification, which are given for “Sustainable Production” for reducing CO2 emissions. TBS was the first Japanese commercial broadcaster to receive this certification.
albert certification
is a certification system managed by the industry consortium “albert”, which was established by Britain’s BBC. The energy used to produce a program and the amount of trash produced are used as the basis for calculating “Carbon Footprint,”, i.e., the CO2 emissions across the entire life cycle of a program. Three levels of certification are awarded, according to the degree to which the program contributed to the emissions reduction. The certifications were first given out in 2014. To date, over 2,500 works have been certified across the world.Reports of actions toward environment
