Establishing Working Environments That Are
Fair as Well as Physically and Mentally Safe,
Allowing People of Diverse Backgrounds to Flourish

  • Improving diversity measures

Developing an employment environment where diverse people can flourish

TBS is promoting women to management positions with a target ratio of at least 20% female managers by the end of FY2025. In this context, TBS Television is working to improve the working environment specific to the broadcasting industry, which includes late-night overtime work and other issues, and to increase the ratio of women in management positions such as line division presidents, heads, and line directors that are responsible for the core of the business.
In addition, we are striving to create an environment where diverse people can continue to work even as they go through life events like childcare, caregiving and medical treatment. We provide career support training for all generations of staff members, from the young to seniors, and various courses for those in management positions to increase their awareness of and understanding toward the work-life balance of their subordinates and co-workers. Through such efforts, we have maintained a 100% return-to-work rate for female employees following childcare leave. The percentage of male employees taking childcare leave has also increased significantly.

In 2019, we established our Office of Diversity Promotion within the TBS Personnel Department. (Name changed to Diversity Support Office in 2023) We have been promoting the development of a workplace where people with diverse attributes can work, grow and flourish together.
The Diversity Support Office organizes seminars to foster a culture that promotes diversity (various anti-harassment seminars, seminars to promote LGBT understanding, etc.) and provides career support for senior employees and employees with limited working hours (due to, e.g., childcare, nursing care, medical treatment).
The ratio of persons with disabilities employed at TBS Television exceeds the legally mandated rate. As remote-work contract employees, they primarily work in the monitoring of programs and in charge of Q&As for social media analysis, program review, and information systems.
