On Operations:
Because of the heavy rain and the high metal contamination, we only clearaed about 1.262m2, nothing found and destroyed.
From our Operation Seniors Staff decide to suspend the Marrupa Old Barracks task because of a high metal contamination and move down to Tobue at Mecanhelas district one of the Niassa province districts, this task is about 12.000m2 to the south of the rail station of the town of Tobue where existed a military government base who mined the area as a defensive measure. According to the informers in 1987 happened an accident to a man by an AG mine and died. There are clear evidences of the existence of mines or UXOs due to incidence of fighting. The clearance of this will allow the enlargement of fields of cultivation and free movement of travellers and goods through this rail station as the suspicion is even close to the railway station, about 5000 people are directly affected.
On Life in general:
My name is Guerreiro Luis Abilio, with 28 years old, was born in Zambezia at Quelimane , married, resident in Zambezia in Sinacura Village, with no child.
I Studied until grade two of electrician course at Macuse Primary and Secondary Educations district of Zambezia province and did not go further because economical problems “money”.
I join HALO as a Deminer then Paramedic by radio announcement.
I am a Catholic and a supporter of Renamo’s Party. I do drink and smoke but no dance.
Before join to HALO I was not working was just helping as a part-time at CNE(National Commission of Elections) now I’m happy because I’ve got my own house which I built with the money which I end in HALO, I would like to have all the best in my house.
I fill my self good with the responsibility I’ve no problems at all on a team.
I use to have a problems or difficulties in attending my family when the campaign prolongs .
On my demining experience I already found three mines only at the first I was scared and the team helped me a lot.
I use to have a refreshing training which makes my skills as paramedic better.
The HALO should review the salaries.
