On operations:
Team 9 is working in the Province of Zambazia, District of Morrumbala, the mined area is the extent of the previously cleared by The HALO Trust in 2000, Frelimo soldiers had positioned bankers and laid mines in order to defend the infrastructures such as: Administration Post, Hospital and the village itself. We usually do find Anti-Group mines most of them POZM-2 type and some UXOs (unexploded ordnances).
The life in general
My name is Filipe Chipire Amade, I’m 32 years old, my wife’s name is Biatriz Agostinho She is 30 years old, my wife’s attending grade seven, we have two children they are both mail, the first born is seven and the second is two years old, my first born is attending grade two, we are all Christian. I was born in Zambezia Province, I did my primary school in a school called Escola Secundaria 25 de Stembro, after that I joined the army in February 1991 and was demobilized in July 02 1992.
Then I went back to my home town and had no Job, I looked for sometime the only thing I got was a part time job in cloth factory called FAVIZAL, they paid 70,000.00MT about 3.00USD per work. The money was not enough to feed my family but I was not hard because I had received indeminization from the army when I was demobilized.
In 1994 a friend of mine told me the a deminig Organization was recruiting people, I went there was interviewed and was accepted as deminer after the instruction, I thought I wasn’t going to make it but with God’s help I did it, in 1995 I was promoted as chief of section, and in 1998 I was promoted again as assistant Supervisor. I’m one of the oldest workers of the halo Trust, I’ve worked in all provinces HALO is operating. The relationship with my colleagues are very good, the salary is I earn is not bad, I’m rehabilitating my house, and I’m saving to help my children future.
