Mozambique Diary
June 23 - 29, 2002

On operations:

At the moment our team is still working in Montepuez district, and the task name is Nairoto, that is a province in the north of Mozambique where the TBS teams are situated. The team is preparing an area next to the minefield under clearance at the moment, for the clearance of this new minefield will be used a mine detection dogs (MDD).

There is a well that was highly mined around, it was then used by Renamo Guerrillas and Frelimo soldiers to fetch water. The team is now concentrated on this area, after that the rest of the area will be reduced, we call it level two survey, then dogs intervention will be required.
