10th - 14th December 2001

10th December
Mariano got up at 5:30 AM, took his breakfast, delegated the cooks to prepare team lunch and by 6:00 left to minefield. When they reached Tchimbassi, Mariano was forced to stop, as the vehicle tyre was flat. All the efforts was done to recover the vehicle problem but unfortunately not possible. By 12:30 they had to leave Tchimbassy and Mariano was disappointed, as they had not demining work. By 13:30, Mariano got his lunch and before having a rest he organized some food for dinner with the cooks. On the afternoon went town for a walk and came back by 18:30 taking his dinner at 20:00.
11th December
Mariano did his morning task as usual, went to the minefield, working with his detector cleared 14 m2 and found 8 metals. By 13:30 left the field, took a bath and then had lunch. By 18:00 organized food for dinner and then while resting was listening to some music. Before going to bed Mariano gave the cooks the meal plan for the following day.
12th December
Mariano got up at 5:30, took a bath, had his breakfast and went to work at 6:00. That was not one of the good days due to heavy rainfalls at 9:30 stopping the work for one hour. By 10:30 took the work back and cleared 11 m2, found 2 metals (pieces of cans) and returned to the base at 13:30. After taking a bath had his lunch, took a rest, organized dinner and went out for a walk. On his way back stopped in a game house and played cards. In the house, had dinner at 20:00, listened to some music and slept at 21:00.
13th December
In a very good day for demining work, Mariano (too motivated), had an usual living morning, went to work, cleared 9 m2 and killed a snake that was just on his working lane. He found 4 metals and went to the house by 13:30. He took his bath had his lunch (Funge de Calulo), a very nice Angolan meal, not having a rest he helped checking the equipment that was supposed to go to CRS for storekeeping and before going out for a walk organized the dinner meal with the cooks. Had his dinner by 18:30, listened for some music and slept at 21:00.
14th December
Mariano got up at 6:30, out of his normal days as once more they faced a not day of work due to problems on the vehicle tyre. By 7:30 took the breakfast and after that washed his cloths as his remote time in Cubal is to finish. Took lunch by 13:00, had a rest, played football and organized meal for the night. By 18:00 went to watch some movies, on his return had dinner by 19:30, after one hour switched the generator off and went to sleep.
