It is difficult to imagine what a town looks like after a war. All the buildings, roads and bridges are badly damaged. After ten years, it becomes difficult to remember the details of some buildings. But the engineers are trying to rehabilitate the town and restore it according to old documents and photos. It is a long, but very important, process.

For example, the roads are like veins carrying blood within the whole organism. So their restoration is vital for the social and economic life of the whole country. Recently HALO was involved in this process. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent an official letter requesting assistance in rehabilitating some of the roads in the main town. HALO answered positively and the Crusher Team provided the road building organisation with crushed soil. It is a really great help alongside the mineclearance operations HALO carries out for the country. We are happy to help if we are able to. So, walking around the town, we hope to see good results.
