Have you heard the latest news? Of course you have’nt! There are so many other important things in your life like watching the World Football Championship in Japan, spending an evening playing chess with your neighbour or sitting in the cinema with a 2 kg of popcorn but also be aware there are less mines and bombs on the planet than before!! HALO worldwide has destroyed over 1,000,000 explosive items and bombs.
All of this is for you to have a chance to watch the Championship, eat popcorn, play chess and do the many other things with arms or legs and sometimes life itself in safety.
So, I think it is quite the time to announce a new holiday. If there is a Miners Day why is it impossible to have a Deminers Day.
And the results of mineclearance may be indirect but concerns things like Championships - just imagine a small boy, genius of football, who lives in Mozambique or Somaliland (HALO is working there) and every day walks around an area with hundreds of mines on.....
