Georgia Diary November 19, 2001

We started to work with new rate from Monday. It was very hard to work with Crusher during the seasons of rains, because wet soil hampered our work twice as much. Wet soil does not pass the conveyor as dry soil does, so it constantly obstructed Crusher bunker. That also caused the risk for the deminer who had to clear Crusher bunker by method of manual excavation. It was a big problem, which we thought about a lot and tried to solve.
We consulted with everyone who had experience working in conveyor factories but unsuccessful. The only thing, which was advised by mechanics was to use some electric-mechanical vibration device. But this system was against Crusher safety rules. I concluded that if we could not change the construction of Crusher, we could use its mechanical power.
On the place where wet soil obstructed we installed a rubber belt, which vibrates by means of ventilation of blow bar and firm soil strikes. Using this method, we achieved good results. Vibration of a rubber belt prevented from soil obstruction.
Now we clear the soil twice as much and the risk is brought down to the minimum. Therefore, thanks to that device Crusher can process dry and wet soil as well. We have plans to work in wintertime as hard as in summer.
