In the end, history wins out as Ryoma Sakamoto (Masaaki Uchino) is cut down with a sword to his forehead. As Ryoma lies dying at the Terada Inn in the presence of the inn mistress, Otose (Shigeru Muroi), Jin (Takao Osawa) enlists the help of Saki Tachibana (Haruka Ayase) and Yusuke Saburi (Kenta Kiritani) in a last-ditch attempt to keep the revolutionary leader alive through brain surgery. Will Jin come through on his promise to Ryoma to save him?
