Episode 8

The fall of 1867 finds Ryoma Sakamoto (Masaaki Uchino) busily running about exerting himself in the last days leading up to the Meiji Restoration. Jin Minakata (Takao Osawa) is saddled by concerns for both Ryoma and Nokaze (Miki Nakatani) who is about to give birth while simultaneously battling the spread of cancer in her body. Saki Tachibana (Haruka Ayase) also spends her days learning how to be a midwife for Nokaze. Meanwhile, Saki's brother, Kyotaro Tachibana (Keisuke Koide), has just been ordered by a high-ranking Tokugawa government official (Takeo Nakahara) to find out what Ryoma is up to.

Then one day, word comes that Nokaze's unborn child is in a breech position in her womb, posing grave risks for the birth. Jin asks the staff at "Jinyudo" to help him attempt to correct the fetus' position through a combination of manipulative therapy and traditional moxibustion. But with the live of the mother, Nokaze, at stake, a critical decision may have to be made.
