Since the first episode in April 1996, TBS’ Sekai Isan (THE WORLD HERITAGE) has been broadcast over 400 times.
Each week, Sekai Isan showcases a cultural or natural treasure registered with UNESCO (The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) as a World Heritage site. Thirty minutes are devoted to each site.
The program has run for over 8 years, a total unmatched by any other documentary series on this scale in Japan.

In basing a series on World Heritage sites, treasures shared by all mankind, TBS aims to create a digital record to be shared by people of all generations all over the world. To this end, we have the best-quality digital imaging technology in the world for shooting and broadcasting, and are using the high-definition format.

|
With our images stored in a wing of UNESCO’s World Heritage Centre archive, we are actively contributing to the international activities of this organization.
Our goal is to create digital records of all world heritage sites. |
