TBS is demolishing its outdated headquarters building, as well as the TBS Kaikan, which is occupied by tenants, and has embarked on a redevelopment project that addresses the challenge of creating a platform for new departures in culture and the arts.

We are building a high-rise office building (39 floors above ground, and three below), as well as commercial facilities, a theater, a live-event venue, and apartments, in a very large-scale redevelopment area taking approximately 33,000m² of Company-owned land. All facilities are to be rented out. We expect the office building, featuring a leading-edge IT environment and full-range functionality, along with a convenient location linking directly with the Akasaka station of the Tokyo subway, to underpin broadcasting operations, our main business, and generate additional revenue streams.

At the same time, we are building a 60 x 30m plaza in front of our broadcasting center in Akasaka, earmarked not only for program production and programming-related events, but also events involving leading-edge IT technology. We are also addressing the challenge of creating a platform for new creativity through enhancement and expansion of our popular theater and live-venue operations. In this way, we will add further excitement to what is already a world-famous entertainment district.
