MOZU: Night Cry of the MOZU Nominated in the Serial Drama Category at the Banff Rockie Awards!

MOZU: Night Cry of the MOZU, a co-production between Japanese pay-television station WOWOW and TBS has been selected as a nominee in the Serial Drama category for the 2015 Rockie Awards at the Banff World Media Festival.
The festival started in 1980 and is held every year in June in Banff, a town in the midst of the Canadian Rockies. It is organized by the Banff World Media Festival, which is funded and operated by the Canadian government, the province of Alberta, and private corporations.
It is considered a world-class television festival along with the International Emmy Awards, the Prix Italia, and the Monte Carlo Television Festival. Every year, entries are sent in from all over the world. The winner of the Serial Drama category will be chosen from the short list of six entries and announced during the awards ceremony on June 10th 2015.
MOZU: Night Cry of the MOZU is based on the hard-boiled action novel series MOZU (SHUEISHA Inc.) by renowned author, Go Osaka. MOZU Season 1: Night Cry of the MOZU was aired on TBS from April 10th until June 12th 2014 and MOZU Season 2: Phantom Wings was aired on WOWOW from June 22nd until July 20th2014, and on TBS from October 16th until November 13th 2014.
Viewers were captivated by the thrilling action and distinctive world created by director Eiichiro Hasumi, who also directed the popular movie series Umizaru (Sea Monkey), as well as by the powerful acting of Hidetoshi Nishijima, Teruyuki Kagawa, and Yoko Maki. In July 2014, MOZU: Night Cry of the MOZU won the monthly Galaxy Award. A theatrical release of MOZU is scheduled for this fall.
