Unconventional criminal defense lawyer Miyama (Jun Matsumoto) returns to take on more seemingly impossible cases, carefully exploring the 0.1% possibility of innocence to uncover the truth. Half a year after Season 1 ended in June 2016 with rave reviews, "99.9 Criminal Lawyer" returns to the Sunday evening slot. Keeping the playful, fun vibe of the previous season, Season 2 adds an additional element: the battles and negotiation dances with judges.
Madarame Law Firm receives a request for help from a woman pleading the innocence of her father, who was arrested and charged with murder. As Miyama and Sada (Teruyuki Kagawa) take on the case, the woman's friend and former judge, Maiko (Fumino Kimura), tells them the man is guilty beyond reasonable doubt. She asks the two only to ask for leniency and try to get a reduced sentence. Miyama heads right out to see the accused father in an attempt to find out the truth.
- January 12 10pm (First episode: an extended episode)
- Cast:Satomi Ishihara, Arata Iura, Masataka Kubota, Mikako Ichikawa, Hiroko Yakushimaru, Yutaka Matsushige
"Unnatural" is a forensic science mystery starring Satomi Ishihara, with an original script written by "The Full-Time Wife Escapist" writer, Akiko Nogi, and the same production team which brought audiences "Reverse," "Testimony of N," and "Midnight Ferris Wheel." Set in the Unnatural Death Investigation Laboratory, or "UDI Lab" for short, each episode features exhilarating mystery-solving and lighthearted human drama with one unified theme – to bring change to the living world by thoroughly investigating suspicious deaths.
The UDI Lab receives the body of a man whose cause of death is said to be ischemic heart disease, in which narrowed heart arteries decrease the amount of blood reaching the heart muscle. However, the man was healthy until just a few days before his death, and his parents are suspicious. At their request, legal anatomy doctor Mikoto (Satomi Ishihara) conducts an autopsy with the support of clinical laboratory technician Shoji (Mikako Ichikawa) and newbie recorder Rokuro (Masataka Kubota), and finds that he may have been poisoned to death. Moreover, the team hears that a woman who worked with him on a project also suffered a sudden death.
